Five times Anders hated Hawke’s dog (and one time he didn’t)

“Hawke!”

His name is spoken with that particular edge, and Garrett cringes before getting up from his desk and following the voice. When he stands at the banister and looks down, he can see Anders beside the fireplace, looking downright livid.

He’s holding something in his hand, and it takes Hawke a few seconds to realise that it’s a few very rumpled pages of the manifesto. Some of them are even torn in two. All of them look rather soggy.

“What…?”

“Your dog, Garrett! I was working and just left the study for a second.” Anders crosses his arms in front of his chest, the paper rustling with the movement. “I come back, and what do I see? That drooling beast, having fun with my manifesto. I’ve worked all night on this, and now I have to write it all over again.”

He huffs, throwing his ruined work into the fire and stalks through the door to the study.

And just as Garrett wants to turn and head back to his room, Anders’ voice booms through the estate, and he’s not sure if he wants to flinch or laugh.

“Put him on a leash!”

Thanks Combination-NC for betaing the first half of this for me. The rest is entirely my fault, so let me apologise in advance. I had no idea how to end this, so it kind of just… ends. Umm, and feel free to write for this universe, because I have a fondness for it now and I want more, just not by me.

“Hawke!” Anders’ deep voice roared from the kitchens. 

 Marian visibly jumped, sending order forms fluttering from her binders and landing on the flour-dusted floor. There was a clatter of trays, and the dramatic stomp of Anders’ booted feet began to grow louder as he made his way towards the front shop.

“Oh God,” she cringed, stooping to collect her fallen papers, “please don’t tell me they’ve been at it again this morning?” Marian cringed and did her best to hide herself behind Isabela’s tiny-waisted body. Her cinched red apron not helping Marian’s cause in the slightest. 

 “Oh sweetheart, do they ever stop?” The traitorous woman laughed, leaning the curve of her hip against the register, and deliberately making herself impossible to hide behind. 

“The sexual tension between those boys is thick like… like, like fucking bread dough, I don’t know bakery similes. The point is, one day we’ll arrive and they’ll be licking frosting off of one another,” her eyes brightened with unrepentant glee, “We need to hold a work party. With alcohol!”

“Not now Isabela,” Marian shushed from behind a cheerful looking standing sign. ‘Bianca’s’ curled in elegant red lettering above a lace-fringed frosted cupcake.

Things that at times randomly pop into my head: Hawke trying to get everyone to indulge in sweets as much as she does.  I figured out at some point Honora has a pretty big sweet tooth; I can’t imagine her NOT trying to get everyone else to eat things like doughnuts, custard, cakes and candy with her.  Because sometimes it’s not about killing bandits or saving up money for expeditions it’s about macarons, by the Maker.  

And yes I do plan to drawing Varric and Fenris too.  As soon as I figure a proper sweet.  :d  It’s the first week of school for the fall at work, I need something to distract me from the fact summer is over.

Time to move on to the inkinkink part of this process.
